I have tried it,

But it does not work on all DCs and the machine I have is clearly one of those :(

I have heard a few people say that they have got it to work though.

Has anyone been able to get the Drive to read both CDR and CDRW media at the same POT setting? (and GDROM too, of course..;)

I tried to do this modification, but my dreamcast seems to have its little potentiometer fixed or glued at the factory-set position.
I have heard stories of people getting it to work on their machines though I don't know if the DC will read GD, CDr and CDrw at the same time (don't see why not though)

I was gonna try it, but the potentiometer that has to be turned is glued :/

However, I found that potentiometer on my PSX, and tried it, and made SOME progress, but still wont read them (I got it to a state where it would make a loud loading noise, just like a super scratched up CD) but one good thing is that my PSX no-longer skips when reading CD-R's like it did before, and loads a lot faster with CD-R's and original CD's :)
