How to do with IMRM??(Single arcade mame game programmer)

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

How to do with IMRM??(Single arcade mame game programmer)

Post by rangrisser »

I download IMRM.zip from IMR Technology site.
In this site he said he could make single arcade mame game with IMRM.rar
But this is consist of source file. So, i can't do anything compile or make
such as 1st_read.bin file for certain mame game.
Does anyone try this for make other SGA game?
Or I want to know hot to make 1st_read.bin file. :|

Unless you have the old MAME ROM sets (0.36) then it's pointless to download the SGA MAME builds.

I think the MAME port is by Warmtoe. IMR (Ian Micheal Reaper) just compiled it using Quzar's menus and and some premade settings for frameskip, underclocking etc.

If I remember correctly the IMR releases overall tend to be slow and buggy. In my opinion they are not worth the trouble of burning.

I think WowMame was pretty good though.

Btw, I compiled a list of some great emus for Dreamcast to help those who are new to emulation, so they know where to start with. It lists all those emus that are close to perfection and in my opinion definitly are worth burning:

lol. What you downloaded was the source code to IRM Mame, not the program.

I didn't make the menu for wowmame or the sgas (they were mostly before my time). I did the menu system for whispered secrets and gamer's quiz show. If the same menu systems were used for any of his mame releases then I guess they were made by me, but I don't know about it.
