DVD-R burning on a PS2

I am trying to make an SNES Station and a PGEN Disc for my PS2 and I have always used DVD+R to make them. This time I updated my disc with several new Genesis and SNES games and I bought DVD-R by mistake. Is there any difference between them?

my ps2 reads dvd-r fine as most things should it is the "standard" format
