O, if you live in America and use Morpheus, you know that the preview edition sucks big time. So I downloaded KaZaA, and its like the old morpheus, but with one problem. IT DISCONNECTS ME EVERY 3 SECONDS!! I have a cable modem, so this should not be an issue...

is anyone else having similiar problems, or is it my computer?

What is WinMX? I like KazAA and am user to the interface, so I would rather use that. But what is WinMX anyway?

WinMX uses public servers that are unreliable

Morpheous Preview sucks the big one (Hopefullly, non-preview will be good)

Kazaa uses spyware (Not a paranoia issue, but a bandwidth one)

i used to use morpheus...direct connect and winmx...winmx (takes alittle time to get used too)........but i have been using mirc for everything latley....

Kazaa Has got Spyware on it, and what stinks, is that if you try to remove it using ad-aware, Kazaa wont run. (I hate the Idea of people Spying on your PC)

I have been using WinMX recentley, but I still think Napster was the best...

WinMX is pretty good, Morpheus is the best I've used, exept the preview...It does bite big wind...I'm going back to WinMX, it never failed me before, well, wait, yes it did.

Well when I installed KaZaA, I dsidnt install any of the EXTRA programs with it- i just did the main kazaa file. Could this be the problem?

I got used to WinMX right after the Napster crash because the interface is almost identical to Napster's.

dude watch out with kazaa some of the installers had a trojan horse with them just thought id warn you of that

um. spyware is nothing. no one should be worried about it (tries to hide hsi damn FBI badge). No but seriously, all it does is send statistics about sites you view and stuff, all anonymously. There are millions upon millions who use it, and nothing will happen to you. People are to paranoid about these things, even if I had passwords and stuff on my comp I wouldn't be worred about spyware sending it to some computer (whihc it shouldn't) and some guy who accesses the servers pulls out my exact file from the millions of statistics. Spyware=nothing to worry about (Damn FBI badge won't fit in my pocket.....)

Dude, Doughboy, the reason people worry about spyware is because they dont want tons of spam in their email inbox. (ads etc)

jeeba, thats why you keep 2-3 email addys. so that a few of them can collect spam whilst your main one doesn't get flooded.

WinMX is a really good program.Can't wait until they come out with the new version.It's supposed to have a new interface,better speed,etc. Their site has said they were nearing completion for months.

I use KaZaa a lot. I didn't know it used spyware.(I don't really know that much about it just how it works.)It runs pretty fast for me with no disconnects. I have a 56K modem and it's goes anywhere between 5 and 10 kbs/sec.
WinMXalways goes slow for me.No faster than about 3 kbs/sec.

Yes you have to install the extras or it doesn't work. Or at least thats what I found. But hey.......what the smeg do I know

I occasionally use LimeWire, but Im more of a regular Morpheus guy.

Limewire lets you see which connections are down, and you can use multiple searches, and good ol Morpheus cant do dat. I havent downloaded the latest Morph yet, and whenever I try and install KaZaA it wont let me unless I remove Morpheus, what Kinda crap is that?

I have 2 addresses... But I use a lot of anti spyware software so I never have any trouble.
