What classes are you taking?
I am taking the following
PSY classes:
theory and practice of group therapy
Research and statistics
Adolescent development
Systematic skills
I was in intro to theatre but that class sucked so I swapped it for US diplomatic history and I added The new testament
As of right now to get my degree all I need is 2 fine arts classes, a pe class, Practicum, testing, Political science 101, and intro to mathematics
Theatre would have knocked out one of my fine arts but I just cant do creative stuff I tried to get a contract degree that would let me take more history instead of a fine arts class but they wouldnt do it. I mean when in life am I going to need to use theatre or pottery

This would probably be more informative if you also listed school, year, and major, to help put things in context.
But since I'm putting off a paper right now, and lists are easy to do:
SCHOOL: University of California @ Santa Cruz
MAJOR/MINOR: Literature (English-Language) / Education (teaching)
YEAR: Senior (undergrad)
CURRENT COURSES:
British Canon Part I: 1300-1700
Contemporary American Literature
Introduction to Programming (knocking off my last GenEd)
I'm not quite done with my major yet, but my minor is complete as of last quarter. And yes, we're on the quarter system; I get new classes every three months, which is why there are only three at a time.

[laughs] Seemed off-topic at first, but work could very much be considered a learning experience. If you want to add jobs into the mix: freelance computer building (I just finished two commissioned machines), and CalPIRG canvassing 8 hrs/day Tu/Th/SaSkynet wrote:Full time work. 10hr days, thats it. Nothing too interesting or difficult.
Was doing Advanced Diploma Network Engineering, got bored (was passing with excellent marks btw), dropped out and got a job.

I tried music listening and I didn't like it. I dropped the class during the first week.DaMadFiddler wrote:Oh, and Megatron--if you want something fun and easy to get rid of arts requirements, check to see if your school offers a music history series (courses like evolution of pop music, history of rock&roll, history of jazz, etc.), or perhaps a creative writing course.

Actually you are right. I'm kinda doing a lot of of the job learning. Learning about managerial (sp?) duties and the like, as 1 night a week (and 1 weekend a month) it is just me by myself. So I need to know the day-to-day operations of how the business runs, and such.DaMadFiddler wrote:[laughs] Seemed off-topic at first, but work could very much be considered a learning experience. I moved out here to school @ Digipen & do the CompSci thing, but now I'm thinking I may just work on building my resum?. I do already have a BFA, so it's not like I need another degree.
I figure my time is better spent working, & I can work on projects of my own in my free time. I may take a couple classes here & there.

I'm an English major at the State University of New York at New Paltz. I think I'm a junior - I've not really been paying attention to that stuff, as I don't actually take classes every semester and I've been an 'Undergrad' for nearly 10 years now. The classes I'm taking are:
English Literature II
American Literature I
Creative Writing Workshop I
Politics and the Media
And, SuperMegatron, the reason you need to take something like theatre or pottery or music history isn't because you're going to ever need to act or make your own dinnerware. It's because being at least somewhat creative is a necessity in just about anything you might do for a living, so while you may not directly apply what you 'learn' in an art class, you're still forcing the creative part of your brain to work. The idea after that is to continue to stimulate that part of your brain after school is all done. That's how I understand it, anyway.
