NesterDC 5.0 Stable/ No 2nd player support & problems...

I finaly got this burned and selfbooted. I went to play it and I found out that it doesn't have 2nd player support. I checked the options screen and there is no option for it like in the earlier version ie. v3.0pre-6

Also I found that if you play and then disconnet the controller from player 1, then you plug it back in you have no control. Also if you dont have a controller pluged in during boot up, then you plug it in later, you have no control.

A few games I tested still need to be fixed to work correctly:

Rad Racer: glitch far road way.
Double Dragon & BattleToads: black screen after character select
StreetFighter Zero: glitching in background durning fighting
Paridous: cuts off bottom "options" durning gameplay
Super Dodge Ball: glitchy characters, and it is slow

Also a support for 3rd party memory cards would be great.

All in all, the speed is great

There is no option to turn it off, that doesn't mean it's not supported.

Make sure that the controller is plugged in before you turn it on, and make sure you don't unplug it if it's already runnin'.

Some of those are known to not be working, others could be bad roms.

I have a 3rd party memory card (without the screen) and it works fine for saving.

works great for me.......and are you sure you dont have 2 player support ??

a few roms require you to tap the analogue stick to the left to choose 2 players

Yeah, I cant get the second controller to do anything... I thought it was the controller but it works fine in the first controller port.

I then looked for an option (stated before) to turn 2 player control on... no luck.

I even have both controllers plug'd in during boot up and play... still no second player control.

Maybe there is something wrong with the second controller's port. Does the 2nd controller work in other games (actual DC games that support 2 or more players)?

is nesterDC still being worked on? There hasn't been a daily release in a week or two. Is it considered complete, or is he just taking a break for a while?

It's actually only been a week (the last daily release was on 2/20). I know, though, I'm getting antsy myself. I got addicted to the daily releases. But one thing is for sure he definitely deserves a break, and in the meantime, I'm just enjoying all the hard work he's already put into it.

Yea, 2 player works fine.

Yea, your #2 port may be out. To check the 2nd port, you can do this. Nester DC *shuffles* the controllers down. Meaning, if you have a controller in port 1, and another in port 4, it's going to have port 4 be player 2. Plug another controller into another port (like port 1 & port 3 or 4), and check if two player works then.

And this may sound REALLY stupid, but, make sure the game is actually 2 player. Been there before.

OK! I Figured it out!

It was a bad burn, i reburned it and second player works... well kinda.

Second player only gets "basic function" buttons only during game play.

That means second player can't pause during game, reset rom, exit game play, search through rom list and the such...

Thanks for the suggestions though.
