Region switch or use a boot disc. Yes, tremor packs will work, but I'm not sure about VMUs.

VMUs should work, I have a NTSC system with a chip in it and I can save jap games and NTSC games on the same VMU without a problem. I'd go with the chip, because its easy to put in if you know how to solder, plus it works great to play imports. I got mine off of http://www.lik-sang.com

i dont need a chip to save imports, although I cant read what it says since I dont speak the language. I use two diff. mem cards though, one for imports and another for US games. I do that standard with all my systems.

What chip are you talking about?

Chip is the best bet, if you're lazy like me. Just have the proper tools before starting, otherwise you'll screw your DC over, like yours truly.

I never owned a mod chip, but I heard they still played some titles back in 50hz.

A DC-X boot disc works very well for me.

Yep, all of the hardware is region free (except some light guns).

PAL machines may run Imports at 50htz and borders, US & PAL machines are sposed to Fudge up on KOF games no energy bars etc, also there sposed to be probs with disc change overs e.g. Shenmue.

I've got the 4 wire chip installed in my PAL DC and not had any of these probs, Except maybe VC2? it has tiny borders but im not sure if it sposed to be like that with NTSC machines? other than that everything else works fine

I think the chip that lik sang sell is a newer chip now, im not sure tho.
