For those who don't see the files.

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

For those who just get the

<..> <DIR>
vmu <DIR>
cd <DIR>
rd <DIR>

screen and no files...
I had this same problem and got around it. I was using nero so I set it at ISO Level 1, and mode 1.
I also unchecked those Relax Restrictions things.. I dunno if anyone can verify this or not.. But it seems to have done it for me..

How did you manage to change any settings? When you load nero image you can't change any setting. Please explain.

I believe what he is saying is he changed the settings for when he burned the movies to the cd...not the DivX player.

Yeah.. I shoulda stated that.. :? I do believe now that that at least solves the problem of not seeing any files.. It probably doesn't like the different file structures that it used when it'd not in Lev1/Mode1...

Wait, does that screen indicate a good burn or a bad burn?

I used WinOnCD to burn the avi files first, but it didn't work. Then i tried to burn the same files with Nero, and it worked.

nero

Post by Gimpware »

I try to use Disc Juggler for all of my DC burning needs, but I use Nero for everything else. That included movies and mp3's. I used to have Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum, but that thing sucked so bad I deleted it. NEVER USE IT! LoL!

yeah I have the same question. When you see the screen:
<..> <DIR>
VMU <DIR>
cd <DIR>
dr <DIR>
is this a good thing or a bad thing? When I put in the divx movie disk nothing happens. Is the problem with the player or my movie disk? What is the player supposed to look like when it's working properly?

Your player is fine, your movie CD is bad.
Level 1, Mode 1.

I had the same problem with the load problem:

<..> <DIR>
VMU <DIR>
cd <DIR>
dr <DIR>

It was a problem with DivX alpha 3. I used alpha 2 to play a disk and it worked correctly, then tried the same disk with alpha version 3 and it would not boot the movie.
