What is the DC camera for?
I've seen the camera in BILAL_XIA avatar, and I'd like to know what's this camera for. Is it intended to be used as a webcam? has it other uses? Does any game support it?

only the software it comes with supports it. and some browsers. pretty cool piece of hardware though. I have one. played around with it for a bit, then boxed it up again. you can use it for a webcam to chat withsomeone else who has one, take and send pictures, send movies, and edit em and stuff. pretty cool.

Naaaah. I love the orange one. It's kinda original you know.
I have the Japanese DreamEye, mint, only used once but never found out all the fuctions. According to the manual and online FAQs you can also use it without the DC for taking pictures like a real digital photocamera. But in the first like it's a webcam for the Japanese browsers.
As I said quite often, I would borrow interested and serious coders my DreamEye if they want to code some application or game for it. Actually the DreamEye is technical better than the EyeToy for PS2! Games like the the PS2 EyeToy: Groove or whatever would be no problem with this lil thingy. =)

Yepp, it's fully compatible. The only peripheral device out there which does only run on the same hardware as the add-on is the Karaoke System. The DreamEye works just fine.
Don't have a clue where to get the DreamEye right now, I got mine from Otaku Most Wanted (http://www.otakumw.com) which was bought by PlayAsia (eeew) and now doen't have such neat things now.
You could ask the Lik-Sang guys. Dunno where to get one else, sorry.

BILAL, that logo on the Dreameye in your avatar isn't blue, it's gray. Also, some of the Dreameye's had a red swirl around the lens and others didn't (mine doesn't).
As for the DC logo, Red is my favorite color so I prefer the red logo (it may be orange, but on all my dc's it looks red to me). Blue is my second favorite color, so I like the blue one too! I'd prefer a blue logo on my black Dreamcast to go with the blue LED, and a red light to go with the red logo, or an orange logo to go with the orange light on my white DC.
* The logo should match the LED for my taste.
Dreameye can be used as a digital camera. You use the Visual Park software that comes with it to edit, mess around with, and email the pictures. It can also be used as a webcam. I've used mine as a webcam to video/talk with friends quite a few times, but haven't used it lately. I've been getting an itch to use it again. It sits here on top of the VGA monitor I use for DC. There used to be a server in Japan that you could connect to and video conference with several people at once, but now you have to use the direct connect feature. It's like the Saturn Netlink, in that, you have to dial a person's phone number and pay any charges. With most long-distance companies charging about $0.05/minute it's definitely worth it. However, I mostly use it with friends who have unlimited long distance.
Also, you can simply record videos and email them to peolple, (no phone calls involved). You don't need the Visual Park software to watch the videos. Any Dreampassport (and I believe Dreamkey) will receive them as an email with a video attachment that you can watch.
BTW, I'd LOVE to see some software written for the Dreameye!
