VMU emu - screenshots
thought it worthed a post in the emulation's forum as well.
VMU Tool is now having a fully working VMU emulator to play your games directly from the filemanger.
this is actually dirtysanchez' port of marcus comstedt's emu VMoo that has been included in the current version.
the game is displayed on both the TV and the VMU screen in real time without major slowdown.
the games are running as well as when you run them on the PC emu, which means without sound and with a decent framerate but not too accurate.
once youve finished playing with your game the file is saved to the VM so the changes will be there next time you load the game from VMU Tool, just like when you quit the game with the VMU's "game" mode.
here are a few screenshots of VMU Football and Chao Adventure by sega:

thanks for your comments
so far only 2 games are not playable: powerstone mini (the plane game) and alien fighter.
for powerstone some sprites are not displayed when they are in a certain region of the screen, so you cant avoid bombs and all.
and for alien fighter the game simply exits after the title screen.
im now trying to get the emu run like softVMS v1.8 compiled by alessandro sanassi from marcus comstedt's source, so it runs more games with less bugs.
ill also see if i can apply the patch for alien fighter i found on soeren gust's site.
ill post more screenshots soon.

Wow! That is very neat, speud!~ I thought that I was seeing the whole picture, and then, I noticed that I could click on the screenshots... and, I was highly impressed. Well done!
I would love to be able to have Chao Adventure playing on the television in the background while I'm working; I could level-up my Chao to higher than the first one that I ever brought with me out of the house with ease! I will definitely be keeping an eye on further developments...

I cant wait to do exactly the same thing, i'm tired of buying expensive batteries for my VMUs.
Speud dont be depressed, we're here anxiously awaiting your tool!!
An excellent job so far!

nice to see your interest
and Styrofoam yes its WaCk0's BG image on the screenshots, sorry i forgot to mention it
oh and a small update:
i fixed alien fighter with soeren gust's patch, but it makes other games run slowly.
so ill have to implement something to detect if the game is alien fighter, and apply the patch only if it is.
i contacted alessandro sanassi about his softVMS version, as it seems he definitely modified v1.8 source to improve it and i couldnt find his mod's source anywhere.
i hope he'll answer soon, thats the only hope for a working powerstone for now.
omar cornut's games glucky laby, paper attack and fat rain are very buggy but this was predictable.
