Forum errors getting too bad to stand

Can an admin please contact ztnet and see if they can get the mysql database fixed? Every other topic i look at or try to respond to gets an error of some sort, and it's getting fricken annoying.

Yet again while trying to post this:

Yea it has been like this for a week or two. It gets anyoing because you type in a big thing, submit, error, press back, and press send. Last week I would like double post or double pm because of an error.

If you get the "zero-byte reply" error, do not resend the message. Despite that error, the message did go through. However, this one with the critical error is new. It happened on every other topic I open. :x

there is a fix for this over on on the phpbb hacks website. i could go into detail, but an admin can fix it by installing this "hack / patch". the zero sized reply i havent gotten since the boards came back online.

I noticed the error everytime I try going to the DC discussion forum. I thought maybe DCemu was hacked.

But yeah...there's a patch that can be added. Hopefully the database is backed up.

The problem is, as has been mentioned during previous error occurances,
Just becasure youre an admin, it doesnt mean you have any FTP access to the site, which in turn means you cant install any hacks or patches.

If I remember correctly, I think Sin-Tex and Cheatah are the only 2 people capable of doing it, which is annoying because they're also 2 of the most infrequent visitors.

You remember incorrectly, I'm the one who added all the hacks & mods. I'm not that great at fixing problems like this though so I'd rather let someone like Cheatah deal with it.

As for the zero-byte reply stuff, I very rarely get that error myself & I think it usually happens when ZTNet are having problems, but if someone wants to link to the patch I'll look into getting it applied.

PhpBB errors are the worst, and the head honchos are a bunch of idiots for owning a database this huge and not modding it often.

My only suggestion is that you figure out what version the site is and see if you can upgrade it as well. (Of course after backing everything up...duh) If you're able to upgrade it...then I'm sure a friendly link to patch download would be essential.

Bump!

So.... you weren't happy enough pissing off the coders you want to take a pop at the forum and site admins too? :?

Those of you going 'oh just back it up and restore it' should probably be aware our database is over 1.5Gb large and I doubt anyone has the time or inclination to download and then reupload more than 1.5Gb of data just to stop people whining for the month or so it will take before the zero sized reply error returns (which is indeed down to zt.net)

I'm not trying to piss anyone off. It's true.

Have you ever started a community on phpBB? I have...and know what happened to it? The entire database got corrupted, the server f*cked up and my site went down.
In all honesty, phpBB head honchos are an elite group of pr*cks.

Am I taking a stab at anyone here? No...

You people enjoy pissing me off and making me feel bad.

Just shut up now. The overwhelming majority of us are tired of your bitching, complaining, and flaming. Just because you have "started a community" on phpBB doesn't mean squat. I've been a member at a lot of phpBB forums, and I have had staff positions at a few aswell, but it means nothing when comparing with the DCemu community because it is so large. I can almost guarentee that you have never been an admin at a forum as large as this one, so I really don't know how you can comment on how our admin here does their jobs. Seriously, we don't need your trolling around here, you aren't doing the community any favors by staying, and I am sure there will be few wet eyes if you leave.
