Beats of Rage on XP

Post by jessman »

Hey, I, of course, have Windows XP, and I wanted to ask if anyone knew where I could get the BOR program without having to download the original pak file again. I have a 56k modem and don't want to waste a whole night getting the PC version of this program. Also, I tried the Sonic X Battle mod and it seems to come with some form of the BOR program with it. It runs slow on my machine and there's no config file that I can edit. I can't even use my Gamepad. Can someone PLEASE help me out here?

Since I doubt you will be able to find it without the pak, I just zipped my files and put it up for you HERE. Tell me once you have it so I can take it back off.

Thank you VERY much. I have it now. Sorry that it took me so long to reply. Well, you can take it off now. Thanks again!

Eh, I might leave it for a day or two so anyone else that wants to try mods on the PC can just download the exe files.

Hey, guess what?!?!? I got Beats of Rage running PERFECTLY on XP by using the DOS sound/video enhancer/fixer called VDMSound! You can get it here http://www.ece.mcgill.ca/~vromas/vdmsound/ and I can use my modern dual analog controller thanks to this program. Mugen still won't work right for some reason, but it emulates Sound Blaster for most games and can fix controller support. It was made for Windows XP, NT, 2000, and I THINK there's support for 95, 98, and ME. Well, let me know what you think.

I tried that program you posted about the sound, but I couldn't get it to work right...until I bumped the sound down from 44100 to 22000. Now it sounds perfect!
