BEATS of RAGE TMNT MOD Demo now out.

Post by Ian Micheal »

This great new Homebrew game lets us make mod's for it . Rather like quake mods but much easyer as far as i can tell so far.

Im Doing a TMNT remake If you would like to help out Tell me Here I plan on Geting it working on the pc version first Im not sure if it will work on the dc version but it should I will keep it to the same size as the game is now. Try any way.

WIP Title Screen

Heres a WIP by no means final select screen

Image

The mod's name will be TMNT RAPHAEL IS MISSING So you can only chose the other 3 Turtles. It's going to be more Snes/nes looking game going to take A bit but most grafix will be ripped like BOR does from games. I want to try get a bigger intro with story worked in to it and some other things.

If you Good at grafix and want to help Out let me know. Sprite ripps and things like that would be a major help and get it done faster it's mostly grafix work at this stage.

Sounds good. I'll take a look on this when my mate dled the port.

Ian: This white font in the selection screen looks a bit crappy don't you think ? :?:

Yeah Going to Redo it . The hard part is Geting all the Turtles in game looking ok is really time consuming. Also changing all the bad guys as well. I know what you Quake modders go throu now.

Heres a fuzzy shot Did it with my digtal Camera.

Thats it for now Not going to be overnight as it takes a bit geting the chars looking the right height and looking like a turtle would walk.

Why not use the PC version for making screenshots?

This looks awsome, does it have its own little animated intro like the original game when you see the boss and the story rise from the city?

Yeah Only a few frames right now But thats one of the Things im working on. It does use Gif's For intros making it not that hard to do Modding is pretty simple and fun. Just ripping the sprites and geting them looking good is pretty hard on the mouse hand. Im using sprites from a turtles Snes game

Heres the last one for today Ive got mike now swinging his weapon when idle, walking is also working. Ive got it looking like he uses his weapon on people and Brought it to the right scale. No background changes yet got to get all the game chars done then work on that and the way the levels work after that. We can have cut scenes and music for them as well furthering the story of the lost turtle.

Used the pc version so you can see it better.

Ian! I always knew you were the coolest! Thanks man! Just PLEASE edit the turtles names because you labeled two of them wrong. Also, won't the game still play like SOR? I'm curious as to how you're going to make it FEEL like a turtles game. Just please keep us updated, as I CAN'T miss this!

I get the feeling I can't voice my opinions good and bad on this without getting a nice flame war started. But huray at TMNT, boo at inconsistencies.

Just a side note, I followed the directions to burn the MAME TMNT and the game runs...I guess...but its really slow and all, I am just wondering if its just b/c there is not a fully developed MAME emulator, or if its something I messed up. Also what settings do people reccomend in terms of framerate etc.

God do I love them turtles, ahh Michaelangel, he was always my favorite turtle, but damn did it piss me off that I'm alergic to dairy and couldn't eat pizza, *like a real turtle*
