Soul Calibur looks GREAT through VGA.
I set up one of my DCs at a gaming get together last year using a big data projector-- Soul Calibur and F355 challenge looked utterly awesome

Stop using the Utopia boot disk.

Use a Gameshark, DC-X, etc. to boot it and you will get VGA output.

i couldnt live without it

I'd go back to HDTV with VGA/Component inuput.

You plug it into the Dreamcast AV socket, and attach the monitor and speakers to the VGA box?

For the uninitiated, the Dreamcast is the only console designed to output an actual VGA signal, the VGA box is not a poor quality scan converter like the fake 'vga boxes' available for other consoles, and universal AV inputs.

There is acutaly a really good one that will take any component input and display on your montior. So you could play all the newer consoles in their VGA quality glory. What's really nice is that it is only $80 at http://www.lik-sang.com
