Bloody hell ! What's the DivX playback like - is it comparible to DCDivX? And has the (S)VCD playback speed increased any? Either way, great job, mate .

I tested it with two VideoCDs, both encoded in PAL (352x288) and the video was fine, but the sound kept skipping at regular intervals of about 2 seconds. Still, very impressive for a test version - I'll have to throw together a few DivX clips to test whilst I'm at it.

seems that it 's exactly the contrary for meZacMc wrote:I heard some popping noise in a divx movie I watched.. It wasn't there when I watched it in my computer or DcDivX..the sound is very good VS dcdivx
I've tested it with 2 divx coded in mono with lame, and it sounds much better than dcdivx for me
Bero, you are a true hero, I have been watching this forum everyday after work since I first heard about your player!!!!
Thanks man!!!
The long wait for a decent freeware video player for my loved DC is over!!!!
I have a dvd player and a computer with tv out, but I have always dreamt about how cool it would be if I could use my dreamcast for movies and music videos instead!!!!
I have convinced a few of my working mates to get Dreamcasts, and we are all very excited!!! Thanks, thanks , thanks!!!!

Guys, try a non-standard low-bitrate VCD. I took an old GypPlay disc with both Return of the Jedi VCD discs crammed into one 605 MB file and made a non-standard VCD in Nero. No audio stutter, looked better than GypPlay does, synch was right on, and the only video glitches were during high-action sequences. No doubt these glitches are because of the low quality video file and not the player.az_bont wrote:I tested it with two VideoCDs, both encoded in PAL (352x288) and the video was fine, but the sound kept skipping at regular intervals of about 2 seconds. I'm gonna try some encodes in between this and VCD-standard bitrates when I have some more time.
DivX also looks better than DCDivX. I'm going to experiment with this also.
In all, I have to say that this is an amazing release not only because it supports just about any format you could want, but because the picture quality is superb, and sound is really good too.

I tried it out too, and yeah, ogm is not supported. I would highly recommend it for a more "final" release. The fact "Test Version" is always displayed is a bit annoying, but you can easy forgive that as that's exactly what this is.
I've found the higher your divx encode rate is, the more your sound will stutter. Also, I was not able to get real media to play at all. Is there any tricks to get that going?
