This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Hard to say. I am sort of leaning towards FrNES though. The only real difference between the two is fullscreen (+FrNES). Now whichever one gets a game like Mario 3 running fullscreen perfect sound without that annoying scroll glitch and messed up menu at the bottom is the automatic winner.

My vote is FrNES. It feels like a real nes to me. And the wavy text at the intro is way cool. 8)

they are both good. i made a little chart noting the advantages of each

Nester
_____
save state
saves are only 8 kb
ability to adjust frameskip while playing game
sound is better

FRNES
_____
full screen
bi-linear filter
full speed with no frameskip for a lot of games

if your goin' to play rpgs i recomend nester and just turning on the frameskip, if not get frnes (or both!)

Yeah it depends on what you want.

If you want full screen games then go for FrNES

If you want good sound then go for Nester

I play Nester more then FrNES but each has its own advantages and disadvantages.
