DarcDC Update and New Images
Posted by at 6:04 PM
My good friend Jaagaadelic on behalf of Consolevision has released two zip files with Nero and Discjuggler images of DarcDc in them. You can have seperate rom cds to use with the emulator. Here are some findings so far:
-Nes Emulation working
-PC Engine Emulation working loading some roms up to 256k in size
-Sega Master System Emulation working
-Game Gear Emulation Working
Jaagaadelic also emailed me this about the DarcDC emulator:
I tested both images and they both worked fine for me and I put a readme file in with both of the images letting people know that they need to insert the rom disc in at the splash screen. There appears to be a 199 rom limit, or at least it only showed the first 199 of the 1435 TG files that I had on it. The rom disk should be burnt in the normal manor, mode 1, level 1. I just tried some GG games on DarcDC and a couple of them run at almost full speed, this is very promising looking emulator.
The Disjuggler image is Here
The Nero Image is Here
The Plain Files are Here
Please post all findings and compatibility and if anyone manages to get the other systems working tell us in this Topic Here.
Lastly a big thank you to Ss_teven for releasing this beta and to Jaagaadelic for the Images.

well, i tested it with my nakered cable this morning.
after my cable disconnecting twice, i managed to get it to work.
it was a little jerky, but..... well i had problems starting a game most of the time...
not sure about the GUI though....

I've played around with DarcDC for the past hour or 2 after burning the DJ image & a rom disc, here's what I've played so far that has worked:
PCE/TG16
----------------------
Liquid Kids
Bomberman 94
F1 Circus 92
City Hunter
Wonderboy 3
Fire Pro Wrestling 3
Sega SG-1000
----------------------
Chack 'n Pop
Flicky
Ninja Princess
Penquin Land
Rock 'N Bolt
Wonderboy
NES
----------------------
Aussie Rules Footy
River City Ransom
Sega Master System
----------------------
California Games
The Game Gear games I've played all came out distorted, but maybe my roms are just bad dumps. None of the MSX, Gameboy or Colecovision roms I tried worked, they just reset the system.
One thing I noticed is that with SG-1000 & NES games you can get back to the rom selection screen by pressing the left & right buttons, but you can't play any other games after doing it. Pressing those buttons while playing PCE & SMS games resets the system.

Thought I'd update the list of PC Engine games I've tried so far, here it is:
Working Games
---------------------------------------------
Bomberman 94
Chew Man Fu
City Hunter
Fire Pro Wrestling 3
F1 Circus 91
F1 Circus 92
F1 Dreams
Gokuraku Chuku Taisen
horse racing (don?t know the name)
JJ & Jeff
Liquid Kids
Maison Ikkoku
Motoroader
Motoroader 2
New Zealand Story
Powerdrift
Raiden
Shock Man
Sonic Spike
Son Son 2
Splatterhouse
Time Cruise
Toilet Kids
Turrican
Vigilante
Wonderboy 2
Wonderboy 3
Yaska
Unplayable Games
---------------------------------------------
Dungeon Explorer
Magical Chase
R-Type
R-Type 2
TV Sports Basketball
Yo Bro
Galaga 90
Wouldn?t Load
---------------------------------------------
Air Zonk
Cadash
Champions Forever
Ghouls & Ghosts
The working games ran slowly but they were still playable, Shock Man probably ran the best.
The unplayable games loaded but most of them were to glitchy to see anything. Dungeon Explorer & Magical Chase loaded up to the menu screens but froze after that.
Most of the games that wouldn't load would just stay on the black screen. Trying to play Cadash resets the system.
