There's another one on there too. I can't see how he can claim that it wull play Mega Drive (EUR/JAP) games though, unless it's been modified.

You can find a lot of information about consoles and their insides here: http://www.classicgaming.com/vcsp/board ... ck+Centralmattthemodder wrote:Are there many fan sites on the nomad??I'd luv to see a pic of the inside
If you ask nicely they'll give you a link to a site that has a super-simple mod for it that will make it play games from all regions.

Yeah, I know. I'm on the lookout and if I can get a sane price on one, I might buy a Nomad during the summer or something.tom61a wrote:Bummer.sixteen-bit wrote:How does "not released here" sound?tom61a wrote:Are these really uncommon in the UK or something?
I want one very much as well, but couldn't afford much more than, say, USD50 for one.

I would pay 30 quid for a good one coz lets face it its a good handheld and looking at the links further up the mods are practically the same as master system mods so getting them to run english carts should be fine. AND...although the GBA may have slightly better graphics (don't debate it!!!!) and a few re releases wots the point I just got sonic 1+2 from a charity shop for ?2!! look at sonic advance its still ?30 in most places and the un-changed classics are always better. And..(sorry) i'm not sure about sonic on a ninty handheld
Yeah, I got mine at Meijer when it was like $60 new. Still have the box, battery (AAs) pack and the rechargeable kind of battery pack. I bought one recently for about $25 and resold it for $71 on eBay to some guy in France. You get LOTS of international bidders on them.
They're very nice. Just wish there was also a portable SNES.

Game Axe, I think that was what it was called. It only had the Famicom connector on the back, so you needed a famicom to nes adapter.
I know they made another version with a NES connector built in as standard, but I don't know where they were sold. Saw one of these at a local shop, though.

If they would all fit, yes.SEGA wrote:and the gamegear had an adapter that let it play sms games and the nomad had an adapter that let you play gg games btw do you think if somebody got a nomad a gamegear adapter and a sms adapter you could rig the nomad to play sms games?
Basically, Master System and GameGear games were identical, other than the form factor of the cartridges, and the color palettes used.
If you could get the Genesis/megadrive to SMS adapter and the SMS to gamegear adapter to all exist peacefully, then yes, it should.
Was there a Master System to Gamegear adapter, or was it just gamegear to master system adapter? I can't remember...
