homebrew gameshark

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

I think that one could be made, as there's already one for the PSX. Although the fact that Action Replay CDX can be easily downloaded would probably dampen the spirits of developers.

would it ever be possible to make a hombrew gameshark/codebreaker that you could have a "code generator" to hack codes like on GSPRO?

If a homebrew GS is possible, then this would be just slapping an interface on the underlying engine. So, yes, if the first would be possible, so would this.

I think it's like Gameshark or Codebreaker or something, isn't it?

*edit* sorry, I misread your question... it doesn't say, it just says it's the cd-xa track for a cdx demo and it's legal.

I still don't get it.
All I want is no time limit in crazy taxi.
can I somehow use this file to do so. All it contains is:
Wwwshark.txt which is textgarbage
Message.txt
and a file called cast.

Um... yeah, you're right. My guess is (and I could be wrong) that the WWWSHARK.TXT is really the binary, and needs to be renamed but I just tried renaming it 1st_read.bin and selfbooting it with selfboot.exe and it just resets after the SEGA screen. A few more attempts might tell me more conclusively what's up with that, but I don't really feel like wasting a bunch of CD-R's for something I might use twice.

Just make a self boot using DSSBS (Selfboot buddy rejects the files and closes) but dssbs uses batch (Yeeee haw) and works just fine. You dont have to change anything. Just for shiiits and giggles I copied CAST to 1st_read.bin just to avoid any 'rejection' errors (file not found or something) but I dont think it is nessesary at all.

MY QUESTION is,

is there a replacement wwwshark.txt that containes more codes ?

Peace

I dunno if it'd be that simple, but you'd have to edit the binary somehow.

And why not just create more codes? Or not enough vmu space?
