i HATE windows!
Whats the deal with lame as all of these lame ass OS? every (EVERY) time i boot up windows 98/98SE/ME i have to reboot many times before it loads correctly! i thought that MAYBE it would be because of some corrupt software i have. but NO, when i have nothing installed booting up is a bitch. IF by chance i manage to boot up ok, im not out of the woods yet. NO WHERE NEAR IT! If my computer doesnt lockup on me when im on the net, it'll wait til im in the middle of a game. this really gets on my nerves because when im using any software (no matter what it be, besides games) this wont happen. its not that my pc is havin a hard time coping, its the fact the my hard drive is allergic to microsoft products. its a dual boot system coz i recently installed Linux. Id use that to surf or whatever but havent got my hardware setup yet.
virus scanners (no matter how new) dont find anything, scandisk doesnt do shit!
All id like is to find out why windows doesnt always fully load properly when booting up!
i need this fixed coz its costing me a fortune having to redial because my crap computer freezes while im online!
does any one know of some GOOD software that might be able to detect and physical probs with my hard disk?

maybe, i havent dismissed that. but the thing is linux works fine and up until a few yrs back windows was (relatively) trouble free. but not 100% trouble free. i know norton has some hardware checkin thing but is
there a prog that will check for props with the actual HDD itself (ie anything wrong on the disc physically)

XP does the same thing to me, sometimes it boots fine, most of the time, I have to reboot two or three (as many as 8!) times before it will load. I think it's my computer, though because I have two others with XP and it doesn't do that. Oh well, at least tax time is coming and my dad promised us a new computer. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Whack in more memory, I used to run a P2 350, Voodoo3, 784Mb system with XP installed and it ran great (apart from needing crappy 3'rd party drivers for the Voodoo).pissed off dc owner wrote:well, im afraid to admit this but

Next time Windows is loading press F8 and select the boot with logging option. It will create a file called bootlog.txt and put it I think in your Windows folder or maybe just the root of your harddrive. Anyway, look this file over for failures etc. and then Google-Groups them to find out what they are and how you could fix it.
