Old DOS games ruled....
They really did. Wasn't it amazing how much fun we had with them? In a time where graphics were not too important, and gameplay reigned supreme, I lost countless hours of my life to these games. I have listed a few. Has anyone played any of these?
Solar Winds (just plain rocked)
Enoid (arkanoid clone)
BattleStar (I uploaded it to my site. Grab it at http://www.ericman.com/stuff/batlstar.zip)
Jazz Jacrabbit (Original and Xmas edition)
Thinking of these games brings back memories
List some of your favorites.

Don't forget Wing Commander 1 and 2 those was great games.
Did anybody ever get Solar Winds to work with sound effects without locking up? I played that game on like 5 different PC's and it always would lock up if you tried to use sound effects. The music would work just not sound effects.
Some other good ones are:
One Must Fall 2907 (mortal kombat style game with robots)
Kings Quest/Space Quest/Leisure Suit Larry Games
Gold Rush

Here's some of my favorite DOS games:
Commander Keen
Jazz Jackrabbit
Wolfenstein 3D (Still haven't tried that for DC)
PIPE.EXE (don't remember the name of this one, Basically, you have to hook the house up to the water tower with pipes. You only have so many and there can be no leaks.
Chopper Commando
OMF 2097
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (My 8088 can talk!)
Space Quest 3
Space Quest 4
Space Quest 5
Space Quest 6
Police Quest 2
Police Quest 3
And a whole lot more I can't remember...

The NES version of Maniac mansion was cool cause it had decent sound. The PC version was made before sound cards was about so it was just computer beeps. Maniac mansion used to hide porn back in the day that I used my parents computer. I had them hidden under a subdirectory called system in the maniacm folder. You wouldn't beleive how much space that old dos game took up hehe.
