Well, i tried the DC LED Mod....
And the led wouldnt work, and i really screwed the 2 holes that the LED goes into. So, i wanted to hook up the 5v LED to the powersource. To do that, i just solder the + side of the LED to the 5v prong, right? But where does the - side go?

If you are powering the LED directly from the PSU, remember you will need to include a resistor (about 470 Ohms should do) in series with the LED.
Also I doubt you will be able to solder to the points you mention, however, you should be able to solder to an appropriate point on the underside of the PSU board.
