Hi,

How about a small program that will allow you to burn saves to a CD and then use the DC to upload the saves to a VMU? It wouldn't have to be very large or filled with flash, just something small and useable. I saw an example source in KOS.

Dude I think you should port Cygne and then i'll get you Wscamps sound source to add on to it. Your port mite be better then OswanDC. Competion is always the key to good work.

Cless, shut up about the wonderswan emu. Do you really think that if somebody is having problems setting up a toolchain that they need a wannabe coder hassling them constantly about too big of a project? Especially when the amount of support they'll get from said wannabe will go off at will?

Unless you're going to start actually doing something, meaning writing AND COMPILING your own code, I will mod further Wonderswan posts from you.

If you want something simple to make, make a simple tasker.
Thats reads all the files one a disk and display them in a list. Anyways that my idea. If you wanna work with it for awhile you can start making it handle the files. Like it it mp3 play it, if its text files open or if its a rar/zip open it up and show the files with in it.

yeah after looking at lots of source code im going to do some think like what you just typed about ..... im downloading ever bit of dc source code i can find from every home brew and emulator

. going to try one after the other to see if they will compile

ive found lots of people's source code they put out to be broken...

its no diffrent in the pc world ether ... annoy but the same stuff

for eg the oswan the dc port has a sound driver in it with lots of broken functions it would not compile the way the source is .. im still geting one error paser token error before "*" if i try compile the dc port of it

i downloaded it from the site .... since im using 1.3 of kos it may be thats the problem.....

Yeah i upgraded kos to 1.17 and oswan dc port compiled with only a few warnings

IM going to test it tonight i left the sound driver in ..

any way ill report later

EDIT well i converted the elf to a bin and scrambled it for selfboot

but all it does is reboot the dreamcast if any one wants the elf i can uploaded it its nothing more then the source from tim's site compiled with kos version 1.17.......

i dont have a coders cable i need to get one but im stuck with buring cds to see if every think is working....

it compiled the source no problems and made the elf elf2bin

the elf starts out at 724kb after elf2bin its 208kb does not seem right.....

any ways cya! for now

The reason that the ELF file is so huge is that the ELF file contains all sorts of debugging information that the BIN file doesn't/can't contain. If you run it through sh4-elf-strip, the ELF will only be slightly larger than the BIN file. So that seems about right.

its just a kos example

Post by reaper2k2 »

its just a kos example

but if you want it ok

The files are ready to burn just unzip them in a dir and put your s3m files in the root .... then use dir2boot or your normal self boot program.

ive tryed to allocate more memory buffer in the file playing but it does not play files over a size i dont know what size but it does not play s3ms that are over 800k or 1 meg ......

it sounds ok and is dan's code only tweaked it here and there and it may be worst then his in the end .... it works most s3m songs not bad......

its built with kos.1.17 i thought every one had it the s3m player its a kos example.....

heres the url

http://au.internations.net/dcdevr2k2/dcdev2k2.html

if you need a nero image or cdi i could make one if you have any problems with it tho i dont know what songs you have or if its legal to include s3m files with it.....
