Japanese sushi = nice because its fresh and and high quality so it has a nice flavour.

Western Sushi = Not nice.

It wasnt a joke.
You know what's really funny though? The reason I like sushi is because I make it myself. Fresh everything. Eitherway when I go out and eat it its always fresh.

i need more chili ramen.

the fact that the grocery store in my town DOES NOT HAVE chili ramen is the greatest injustice in the world. best flavor by FAR.

Damn, I can't believe this thing still gets posts.

But while I'm looking at it, here's something that I've discovered from being a bachelor having to cook for 20 girls during an asian night party. A damn cheap way to whip up a ton (re: 20 pounds cooked) of stir fry is to grab ramen, ideally oriental with some chili packs thrown in for flavor. Cook those on the side. Grab a few bags of frozen stir fry veggies, usually about a buck a bag at the store in the frozen food dept. They are usually cheaper than fresh produce too. Cook the veggies, toss in what suace you have left over from making your main course (probably a meat dish, I make teryaki beef a lot), cook them some more, then dump in the noodles, stir, cook a bit more. I made 20 pounds of food this way for about $40 - $50 with the meat and teryiaki, and that's in California where everything's more expensive.

I make ramen stir-fry a bunch. I never use the seasoning packets.

My favorite recipe lately is chili lime. Stir-fry all the veggies with chili, garlic (and sometimes a little basil), throw in the noodles, and squeeze half a lime over it. Add a little bit of soy sauce, but not much.
I'm a lone wolf looking for trouble.

i love eating ramen noodles raw...

if this has already been covered in one of the 11 pages of this thread, skip the rest of this post!!! :D

don't open the packaging... but just smash the noodles until they get all crumbley. then open the packaging, remove the soup base and open it. with the soup base open, put about 85% of it in your crumbled noodle mix.

why 85% b/c you don't want to eat all of that MSG!! haha
with the soup base in with your crushed noodles, grasp the top end and "shake n bake" that bad boy until the soup base roughly spreads itself out.

open and devour with a spoon b/c you don't want all that MSG on your fingertips!

btw, don't eat too many raw ramen packets... it's not that good for you!
think about it... the soup base is supposed to be diluted with water right? LOL

-------------------------------------------

just an addendum to this post:

my favourite way to cook ramen noodles is to cook an egg while the noodles are boiling:

1. measure your 2 cups of water AND put the soup base in cold water
2. boil
3. add noodles and cook for about 2 minutes
4. crack an egg and put it in the pot (just trust me!)
5. let the egg cook for about 30 seconds and then break the egg apart
6. cook for an additional minute, turn off the gas and cover the pot
7. wait 3-5 minutes
8. dump into a bowl and eat!

after going off to college, I've discovered I'll go through the cup ramen a lot faster than the brick ramen...

...kinda getting sick of ramen though...and this is only my second semester...

...man...when I was 9 I could only about half a ramen...now I could eat two and still be starving....

...and I've learned, it's not good to eat only ramen just before marching in a football game... hat little bit of stach wears off before halftime and performing a fast 8 minute show on an empty stomach will make you pass out...

Heh, I need some chilli ramen right now....odd that i posted about that awhile ago.

I think I'm going to start experimenting with some ramen dishes; I'm sure a stir-fry would be doable.
