For the DDR mat I'm making, I was planning to use a spring for the pad. ie you stomp on pad, spring goes down and connects wires. But I'm having trouble finding a spring that would be right. Does anyone else have any ideas on how to make my pad work without using a spring?

i took apart an old keyboard and there were no spring just this rubber thing that...hard to explain...like bubbles or dents and that was what pushed the key back and you could use somthing like that but i dont know where you could get themand you would just put the connection on the under side of the dent and when its pushed down it would touch the other connedtion that is below it...this is hard to explain i hope you get what i meen :?
