NinCast64 (N64 emu)

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Actually, let's not jump to conclusions and blame Ron and fox68k for the prank.

I never saw either of them partake in conversation about it on any message boards. It could be similar to the Dreamer prank a couple of years back with ElSemi on Emulatronia. They claimed that ElSemi got a commercial game running in Dreamer in the post, and ElSemi was upset with them because he didn't give his consent for the prank, and didn't like his name being dragged through the mud.

DCIberia have hosting problems. Nothing new sadly.
What you can see now is an older backup. It's all.

The original post is older than their backup.

The original post was item 222. It's now gone, yet items 223 and 221 still exist in the database.

I just saw the ngemu thing. That's complete BS as to their reasoning.

http://forums.ngemu.com/news-comments/6 ... post909621

I'm dissapointed that I actually believed that there was proof that it was fake when I read it.

In case you don't read the link, I believe it is fake, but for independent non-reasons, the two stated points don't help, but they do not prove that it is fake.

Hmm, time for me to jump in at ngemu as well, I'm the one who posted the news there in the first place >_<

For the sake of the authors I hope it isn't a fake, though I have my doubts. I already showed it in the first newspost I made there. Thanks for jumping in there Quzar.

As for the pictures, bad screenshots often betray a fake emu, and now that the news on DCiberia has been removed I highly doubt there is a chance it could've been true.

Just wait.
It's very sad that you don't trust coders such as Fox and Ron.
You will see.

There's a lot of evidence that points to the contrary.

If you had been here long enough, you would have seen that there are tons of hoaxes that get announced all the time - especially for Nintendo 64 emulation. It's only natural that we'd be highly guarded towards any announcements after so many dissapointments.

Fox68k and Ron have released some neat stuff in the past, but that doesn't mean that this is automatically real.

Remember my first comment in the thread: it's very likely that this was a failed attempt at an extended prank for Dia de los innocentes.

Don't get me wrong, I am still waiting for something official to prove others at NGemu wrong. It's not that I don't want to trust, but they just have the odds against them.

Hopefully they will prove me wrong ;)

...And with the debunking at NGEmu, and the news pulled from dciberia, I believe this warrants a lock until further notice.

Otherwise it's just going to be
"It's real!"
"Naw, it's fake!"
"But I want it to be real!"
"But the screenshots are photoshopped."
"But.."
"No."
"Yes!"
"Duck season!"
"Wabbit season!"
