When I got my first DS at launch I was seriously dissapointed. The only half decent software was Mario 64 and anything promising seemed to be more like a short-lived novelty experiment than an actual game. Especially with developers trying to make use of the touch-screen in every single aspect of gameplay.

Eventually I gave up and sold the thing.

But now I bought a new one and I love it to bits. There are some great games out now, especially now that touch-screen control has found its place and developers have realised just using 2 screens is good enough and we dont need to be touching all the time.

Mario Kart especially is fantastic. Its worth buying the system for.

Animal Crossing, Tony Hawk, Advance Wars and Monkey Ball are also all fantastic. And there is also that massive mound of gba games available... *drool*

yeah, the lot of the launch games and first wave were just tech demos, but right now there is a lot of good stuff coming out

tomorrow i might pick up jump superstars, but 60 euros is a tad steep imho, i might get AC, but im not to sure about if i like the gameplay

if i come across polarium cheap ill pick that up for sure

Have you tried any of the bigger hits? Like Castlevania, Mario and Luigi, Mario Kart, Phoenix Wright, or Jump Superstars?
Naw, it's my friends ds. I don't know anyone else with one so I'm pretty much screwed when it comes to playing any other games.

I just looked at the lineup that they have going now. I haven't really kept up with the DS scene. Looks like I'm going to pick one up pretty soon. Does anyone sell the Mario Kart bundle for $130? Otherwise, I'll probably just pick one up used, they seem like they're pretty easy to come by.

Don't say that. DON'T SAY THAT. I just got my DS for Christmas, I don't want it to be obsolete already :( .

I'd kinda be offended by that. If they did, that is.

A Nintendo DS redesign will almost certainly happen at some point. I thought hat was blatantly obvious considering its a Nintendo handheld.

And? Nintendo are a company. Their prime reason to update the DS will be for financial reasons. Any actual physical improvement to the console will just be a bonus. I predict a bit of cosmetic surgery and a "brighter screen" will be enough to get more money rolling in.

If they're gonna do that, they should have just put in a GameCube or something. Or hell, I'd like a Genesis built into my car :P

There would have to be massive improvements for me to upgrade. If they improved trigger placement, made the screens brighter and bigger while also improving or keeping the same battery life/size, and made the buttons bigger, I'd be in.

Edit to add: Oh yeah, and about twenty minutes ago I pre-ordered three copies of Bleach DS off lik-sang (one for me, two for friends, and we get to split the cost of super fast DHL shipping). Do lik-sang coupons not work on pre-orders or what? I didn't see a place to get my $5 off coupon to work.

Any brighter and they'll be forced to plaster one of these on the back.
