We're comparing a end-of-life-cycle Dreamcast game to one of similar status on another, newer console. By demonstrating that a Dreamcast can stand up, or in some cases surpass, the Playstation 2, I think that is a definite power demonstration.
I'm still not fully convinced by that link. Yes, there were times where I was like "damn, that looks better than Shenmue," but I don't know that I thought that more than the other way around. Mostly the lighting effects make Yakuza look good.
Half of that movie was cutscenes, and the main comparison (The streets of wherever the hell Yakuza takes place versus Wan Chai from Shenmue II) left me thinking Shenmue looked better. I just don't think the city in Yakuza looks as lush or detailed as Shenmue does, despite higher poly count and fancy lighting.
