Which looks better, the games on the Genesis disc or the games on XBLA? I heard they revamped the games on the disc a little bit for HD owners, is it any better than the versions on XBLA?

I haven't played the XBLA versions, but I have played the Genesis Collection disc on PS3. In regard to graphics, it provides pretty much all the options you'd expect from a mature homebrew emulator: stretched or non-stretched (with arcade-style art filling in the rest of the screen around the game), you can toggle free stretching to adjust the image height and width how you want, and you can play the game filtered or unfiltered. They didn't redo any game art obviously, or monkey with how the games work at all, but it does have a good-quality filter... and several games (particularly arcade games) let you tweak the game parameters.Luriden wrote:Which looks better, the games on the Genesis disc or the games on XBLA? The main advantage over the XBLA releases is the value. $20-$30 (depending on where you buy it) gets you the vast majority of old Sega games you'd want, and you can easily unlock a slough of MasterSystem and arcade games that are on the disc as well (which also come with all the same stretching/filtering options).
The only significant thing I haven't seen is a way of combining Sonic 3 & Sonic and Knuckles Maybe it's just something I haven't unlocked.

It just seems like a strange omission, since even the previous-generation discs (Sonic Mega Collection for Cube/Xbox/PS2) let you unlock a combined version of the titles.
