I love that keyboard! Probably the most comfortable one I've ever used.. but the clicking could be better. I really do like Microsoft hardware, I just have a problem with their software :)

I'm thinking I might be replacing my aging Logitech MX1000 with a MS Laser Mouse, but I'm not quire sure yet. It's super comfortable and feels great, but I'd need to find it for a good price first :)

Neat. I have one of those, too. Only, mine is named "Boy" (our daughter named him when she was under 2).
Cats + computer setups = potential disaster.

At least in my recent experience.

I'll price everything out and comparatively, we'll walk through things. Now, most of my friends when they went to college went for the highest end 'Sony Vaio' that they could possibly find... then because they are idiots, they had the Geek Squad install everything they wanted... paid for MSOffice and the like. Ultimately, they spent around $3000 about 3 years ago for their 17" behemoth of a laptop. Here's my stuff:

17" Core Duo iMac - $1050
13" Core 2 Duo BlacBook - $1150
12" G4 Powerbook - $350
MS Keyboard and MX1000 mouse - $100
22" LCD Display - $200
iPhone - $600

So there I'm sitting around $3450 of stuff on that desk, and keep in mind the BlacBook is going to be sold very soon (bought it before I got the PowerBook, which is what I really wanted). So after I sell that [for damn near what I paid for it], I'll be down to about $2500 total for the whole setup. And as for being 'extremely' rich... I work, I make money and I spend money... I started out college with a $1100 12" PowerBook G4 (not the one pictured) and my system has grown to what it is today, not even with help from my parents at all. Another thing I do is try to find deals on forums and the like, and then re-sell the products to make a profit. I've been doing this for a couple years now, and actually thats how I afforded my 17" iMac there -- all from profits reselling crap. So hey, no need to be a hater :)

[at least I'm not like SuperMegatron and squandered student loans on it all >D ]
