He was for a bit, though it was a disguise & lets not forget the films havent exactly followed the comics so far have they? but then as Raimi has stated that he wont be reffered to as either Hobgoblin or Green Goblin its a moot point

no he wasn't. only ultimate harry osborn was the hobgoblin. in the regular marvel universe harry becomes the green goblin for a short stint. but is NOT the hobgoblin.

Is there any point behind not making it known the name of the X Goblin in this film yet? It obviously strays away from cannon material - but what is the logic behind keeping it a secret?
