I don't understand, none of the options used alter the bitstream and the DX50 (divx 5) fourCC ID code was used. I will investigate further, but I fear I might have to go for DivX 5.xx like you guys said.Shapyi wrote:I gave it a test. It did not load up in uDCDivX. Just hung at the black screen of death.Gav-X wrote:Ok, I deleted all clips and uploaded a new version of the first one, please try it out:

Electroinalium: if this clip had an average video bitrate of 4015kbps, its size would be over 36 Megabytes instead of being just over 6 Megabytes.
[edit]I will upload a version of 2.avi with the DIVX fourCC ASAP.

What kind of settings are you making these video files with? DcDivX supports 1 to 1000 kbps (1000 if you know what you're doing). 4000 will not cut it at all.

Here is the VirtualDub File Information:

it says the Data Rate is 590. Very odd indeed. You probably selected a Quality Based setting, so click Target quantizer and make it Target bitrate like this:

That way it will use a Constant Bitrate. Of course the video quality will go down.

It doesn't work either. You're obviously doing something wrong with the encoding, or that XviD isn't supported by uDCDivX.Gav-X wrote:Just two passes and a final video size of 5500kbytes. None of the features used alter the bitstream, so there shouldn't be a problem. Could you please try 2.avi?
and get a Dreamcast, they are $ 30 on eBay

The problem seems to stem from the muxing program. The audio and video in this try have been muxed with a different program.
