PC - Wolf 3D (a true revalation back then), Doom, Half Life (told a story so well), Deus Ex (multiple paths, lots of choice, though I seemed to go the Ahnuld route most of the time ), JK2 (at last a Star Wars that doesnt suck, it has been a while)
N64 - Mario 64, Goldeneye, Pilotwings 64 (truely beutiful game especially the birdman bits, very relaxing)
PSX - Ridge Racer (like having the arcade unit in my room and making it play my own music), Soul Edge (if you havent tried it do so), Bushido Blade 1 & 2 (proper sword fighting, they dared to do away with life bars and have it posible to do 1 lethal hit just like in real life), MGS (even more so when I could finally understand it, serves me right for gettin the Jap version I guess), Tenchu (forget MGS this is what started the modern age of stealth games)
Saturn - Nights (nuff said)
Megadrive - F22 Interceptor (first polygon game I played on the system, I was also amazed how easy the cheat menu was to access I got into it by accident!), Sonic (Speed)
SNES - Mario World, Pilotwings, KI (didnt play well but the conversion was better than expected), DKC (remember when everyone thought the demo of this was running on an ultra 64?)
DC - Soul Calibur (SC2 will have to work hard to beat it, being able to use the fishing rod to control it made another wow moment after several months of play), Crazy Taxi, Shenmue 1 & 2, F 355, DOA2, JSR, MSR
Xbox - Halo, JSRF (for the dumbing down mainly), SGT2002 (cant beleive how bad it is), PGR (havent got it but from what I've tried of it its a great DC emu ), DOA3, DOAXBV (theres a good volleyball engine in there & the casino's quite nice as well, as long as you have the mind that doesnt mind cheesiness in games or fanservice then its great, set mind to fun before playing)
PS2 - GTA3, GTA:VC, MGS2, MKDA (well the demo anyway, it sucked more than an industrial vaccuum cleaner), Tenchu Wrath of Heaven (finally the series comes to a system that can handle it, you can now see more than 2 feet [slight exageration] ahead of yourself)

Y'know, I need to try SC with the DC fishing rod for a laugh (if I see one cheaply in Gamestation / GAME / wherever again). How well / badly does it play like that?

It's tricky at first but you soon get the hang of what swing does what, moving the character is tricky while doing this but who backs off in a SC fight anyway eh?, it's a great laugh doing it this way & it gets better if you have 2 rods for multiplayer madness, especially funny when you've been drinking makes it a sort of party game

PlayStation : ermm, this is hard? cant think of ANY!?
There weren't any that made me say WOW. There still aren't. The best SNES games look better then 99.9% of PSX polygonal games. Gameplay wise, though, Twisted Metal 2 convinced me to get one. And even that wasn't like I MUST HAVE IT SOON.

GCN it was Metroid Prime.
