Which was better: Original Resident Evil OR Tomb Raider?

There is only one Tomb raider game I have ever really liked and played properly. And thats Tomb Raider 2. I have 1,2,3 and 4. But 2 is the only fun one Ive played. Now its just got boring.
As for Resident Evil, Ive never played the first one...

there was only one TR game i liked for a short period of time aswell, it was TR2 or 3.
