(At this point, Duke noticed that the circuit boards all had katana and naomi written on them instead of Dreamcast which was interesting in itself)

I'm sure I've seen 'Katana' inside my PAL first generation DC. I've got a webcam, I'll get a pic in about 1/2 hour if it isn't too far down inside the thing/.

yeah, mine say katana in them too, but I've had them completely apart, and they don't say naomi on them anywhere.

My DC has the Naomi logo written on the metal rectangle underneath the GDROM drive. The GD drive itself looks different from my other DC's GDROM drive, though only in minor ways. (The rubber tubes which hold it in place are dark red, and located in different places. Also, the top of the drive looks different, and finally the old spindle -which is now broken, but I still have it- looked different.)

so is that good that the dreamcast is liquid cooled or not?

I've seen black and blue rubber grommets for the drive. Unfortunately, the naomi logo on the drive, although different, does not make for any noteable hardware differences.

It's supposed to cool it more effectively, other than that, it makes your dreamcast rarer, and niftier to have.

There is so much information on the bottom of the dreamcast... I dont think just the serial number would tell us everything.

mine is:
model: HKT-3020
manufactured August 2000 WK
circle 1
NTSC U
below that there is 670-1408M

Serial number DU082234461

The gdrom has 2 black bushings and the one on the right is blue.
near the spindle it has a sticker with this number ydc0722 0808
The case for the grom controller board is metal and says
G21
3.3v (in large print)
610-7294-04
ASS' Y GD UNIT DC
samsung
and a sticker that says MADE IN CHINA

Controller board says katana...

Fan and surround are plastic...

I havent taken the mainboard out before... not sure I want to right now : /
