DC Movie Player released

This has the potential to be a very good player. Hopefully the SVCD can be perfect. My DVD player can only play VCDs so if SVCD can be perfect, that would be hype.

I think he added PAL support in the second 50 hz release and if not BlackAura posted a way to add it.

How well does ASF work with this?

i tried using this but sadly it doesent work with xp. is there any chance of someone trying to get it to work with xp ? does the movie player play realmedia files ? what encoding do they have to be ?

No it doesn't play real media files, only real media ver. 1. Asf works fine with the beavis and buthead episodes I have.

does the movie player play realmedia files ?

No one has gotten any realmedia to play yet.

duh, on me.

i was going to make a topic about the movie player checker but just copied it into this topic. so i was talking about the checker there.

Yeah, I figured you were.. I got the checker working in XP but it doesn't display the video correctly for any of my videos..
Make a .bat file with this inside..

Code: Select all

ffmpeg-sh4 -i test.avi dmy.sdl

put the .bat file and your video (test.avi) into the dcmchecker folder. Run the .bat file.

BTW the audio in my realmedia files does work with dcmchecker.

All I can say is nice work Bero! Very nice player, especially since it's in an early state. The audio/video sync (or lack thereof) makes it little more then an interesting test version then a media player for the general public at this point, but already the speed is amazing and compatability is very nice (couldn't get Quicktime or Realmedia files to work on it, but since nothing supports those that was expected). Even high resolution files (400x300) seem to run decently, and other then the AV sync the playback is fairly fast. Once it's synced, it'll be the best player out there. Oh, and more features (pause, fast-forward, etc.) would be nice, but hardly required for a great player.

I made a quick GUi for the DCM Checker, so you don't need to use .bat files or the console at all.
Hope this works for everyone.

Btw I'm using WinXP

You can download it here: Download of this version has been disabled due to a major bug, read my next post for new version
Installation instructions: simply extract to your DCM Checker folder.

A major bug is now fixed, read the changelog for details
