Super Famicast V1

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

Great to hear about the sound issues being resolved so quickly. You seem to be kicking butt so far. I have read issues people have had with the small font size with S-video it seems very readable. I could see with a small TV and A/V cables how it might be pretty blurry though.

I was wondering if there is VGA support. Is there?

I just had a chance to try super famicast last night (finally) and I must say that I was pleasently surprised at how well it performed. Great job scherzo.

I was just wondering when the next update might be coming out. I know I'm getting a little greedy since the 1st version just came out 2 and a half weeks ago, but I always welcome testing new versions out. And keep up the FANTASTIC work!!!

word is not for a while. scherzo is writing an asm core for the SNES CPU that will take quite a long time to fix. hopefully, other bugfixes will happen before then that will allow for a release in between now and when the ASM core is finished.

when did he said that he started writing an asm core?

wasn't him trying to make the C version complete before starting asm?

Using totaly C on snes emulation was going to be very hard to get it any faster. He should get true fullspeed or close to it by doing this which is great news i believe he will get this really going it will be months i would think to a new version no updates and it will be well worth waiting for.

But this is just my view on it i dont have any other info but the programing forum.

yea, it would be nice to see a few minor releases between now and when the asm core is finished though, bugfixes or minor improvements etc.

Yeah, it's great if people want to add features themselves. However, even though I have made the source open, I want to kind of discourage unofficial releases while I'm still actively working on it. If someone adds a feature, I think it would be best for them to contact me so we can work together on merging it with the main source. Of course, I won't get pissed if someone does make a release with their own changes but I think it's better if they don't. Because then there could be cool features in their version that mine doesn't have and vise versa. I would hate for people to have two or more versions on CD, one that they use for game X, Y and Z, and another that they use for A, B, and C. Do you see what I'm saying?
