Re: Wii GameCube Compatibility
What are you complaining about exactly? GameCube controllers work with GameCube titles, and VC titles also work with GameCube controllers. What's the problem?

Re: Wii GameCube Compatibility
I think he's pissed because he bought a Classic controller and discovered that it doesn't work with Gamecube games. But that's just a guess.

Re: Wii GameCube Compatibility
Yes, its true that the GC controller works with VC games, but it's a royal pain in the ass to play some games with it. Since the buttons are in an "ergonomic" position, it makes it very hard to play games like Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, ect..
OOH! YA! Duffman Says a lot of things.

Coming up next: if you could choose any 2-tone color combo for Mario's outfit, what would it be, and would bundling an XL-size cotton version with Shenmue be a good idea? Followed by: If the Dreamcast had more RAM, would the PS3 exist, and if it did exist, would Sega have bought Capcom and released a Resident Evil game on the DS where Leon's character model has lost 10% of his muscle?

Re: Wii GameCube Compatibility
Classic controller is only really needed for SNES games... and even then, it's not needed, it just feels closer to the SNES controller.
That's just my two cents.

Re: Wii GameCube Compatibility
What I am pissed of is that why doesn't the GameCube controller work with all the games that have classic controller support such as Sega Superstar Tennis.
It just BULL SHIT!
I have 4 Gamecube controllers which are almost useless now.

Re: Wii GameCube Compatibility
Oh. Yeah, I think it's pretty obnoxious when they do that. It's up to the developers what they support though. Another obnoxious one I remember is Metal Slug Anthology not supporting the d-pad on the Cube controller. What I am pissed of is that why doesn't the GameCube controller work with all the games that have classic controller support such as Sega Superstar Tennis.

Re: Wii GameCube Compatibility
Okay I rescently played Day Of Reckoning 2 and realised how shit the gamecube controllers really were... Now if only we can find a way to get classic controllers to work with all gamecube games.
Oh and guess what Sonic Riders Zero Gravity isn't compatible with classic controllers but works dandy with GC controllers, wtf?

Re: Wii GameCube Compatibility
GC controllers fit my hands well, though they suck for certain things like Tony Hawk games and (I can imagine) 2D games.

Re: Wii GameCube Compatibility
Off topic slightly, but does the Wavebird work with the Wii? I might get one if they do. It's hard to go back to wired controllers again... I feel so spoiled.

Yeah, I've seen them work, though I'd imagine you'd have to keep the cover open at all times.

Re: Wii GameCube Compatibility
If it worked on the Gamecube, it'll work on the Wii. I've used everything from a wireless Madcatz controller to a completely obscure T-Wireless controller, and even the Hori digital gamepad. Hell, I think I've even used the GBA link cable to play Wind Waker.Luriden wrote:Off topic slightly, but does the Wavebird work with the Wii? I might get one if they do. Re: Wii GameCube Compatibility
Third-party GC memcards tend to have issues in general (though it's arguably Nintendo's fault). Some work better than others, but I've not heard of any that are 100% protocol-compatible with Nintendo cards.
