Because that's what people wanted it to be? Fighting games might not be innovative, but forget the Castlevania title attached to boost sales - a hand to hand weapon brawler with the wiimote could be fun.melancholy wrote:Why does the Wii have to be the exception to everything?

Re: Castlevania Judgement - Wii
This could be a good game, sure, but there are much better things you can do with the Castlevania name. For example, a high-def 2D pure action platformer... a bit like what SNK is doing with KoF XII: take the good old stuff and refine its looks. That would get people excited, much more than yet another 3D fighter.
Also, as far as I'm concerned - and I'm sure there are many people out there who will agree - the last "true Castlevania" was Dracula X for the SNES... and the "metroidvanias" are a different series that just happens to have the same name. Not saying they're bad at all, but they are too different to regard as parts of the same lineage. So it'd be really nice to, you know, take the name back to where it truly belongs.
And finally, the character design sucks.

Re: Castlevania Judgement - Wii
It could be very cool depending on how it's done, but it is a shame that they are not releasing a traditional Castlevania type game on the system. I do think the Metroidvania styled entries into the series were good and simply an evolution of the franchise. I'm fine with whatever and just glad there is a Castlevania game coming to a Nintendo home system again. This will do... for now, Capcom!

Re: Castlevania Judgement - Wii
Well, I suppose the sword familiar in those pictures shows that they are at least somewhat paying attention to the original designs. Hopefully everyone will have outfits from their original game appearances as either normal alternate costumes or unlockable third costumes (perhaps through the DS connectivity).
Online play and DS connectivity announcement.
I'm new to online console gaming so I'm looking forward to having a game to play online other than just Brawl. As an added bonus, players are also able to compete head-to-head using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connectionâ„¢ and connect with Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia on the Nintendo DSâ„¢ to unlock bonus gameplay content.
