IGN had done a similar piece, but Play Magazine probably did it better with far more as far as within the realm of possibility (although really improbable). They had some great names for future Dreamcast 2 games like Sonic Dreams, Shining Force Online (which would really rock), Panzer Dragoon Saga 2 to name a few.

if sega ever did enter the console business again, I know they would probably be wanting to re invent their image. One way would be by not calling their new system Dreamcast 2, to remind them of past failures. Sega has a pretty bad track record, but rest assured I would be first in line to pre order a "dreamcast 2", though I know this is not going to happen.

if only it were true! of course, like I always point out, Sega is worlds more creative then sony or microshaft, so the name would definately not be Dreamcast 2. compare:
Sega - SG-1000 (not the most original, but not bad), Master System, Genesis/Megadrive, Game Gear, Nomad, Saturn, Dreamcast (best console name ever)
Sony - Playstation, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Playstation Portable. even ignoring the blandness of the name "playstation" the only new thing with each system is a new number or "portable" which just describes it. come on guys!
Microsoft - X Box (what the fuck were they thinking. "hey look guys, it's a box, and X sounds cool, let's call it an "X box"), X Box 360 (i'm not sure where the 360 comes from, but it's just X Box again, plus a number to distinguish it)
disclaimer - this post is only dissing on the names of the consoles, I have not actually ever owned a X box, Playstation, PS2, PS3, PSP, or Xbox360
