uDCDivx

This forum is for discussion pertaining to homebrew and indie software for the Dreamcast, such as homebrew games, emulators/interpreters, and other homebrew software/applications. Porting requests and developmental ideas are not to be made here; you can make those here. If you need any help burning discs for homebrew software, this is the place to ask as well.

uDCDivx

Post by schnappy »

Hello,
I can't find a working download for uDCDivx. Hope somone can help, thanks. Also, a of apps which sound good are on dc-homebrew, but that site appears to be gone now... is there a replacement site which hosts all of the apps that were there?

Thanks

We are trying to get all the content from DCHomebrew into our wiki since this site was part of DCEmulation until Wraggster deleted everything.

He took DCHomebrew with him since he and Zoidberg were the only ones who updated it at that time.

Can't download it :( Could be something to do with a recent upgrade they recently had.

It's a good thing, because they've done so well with it: http://dchomebrew.org/.

At least here the stuff stays forever, even if stagnant. Now though we've simply lost all the content from it forever.

I meant that DCHomebrew.org was merged with the Dreamcast downloads @ DCEmu UK a while back. All of the stuff is still on DCEmu UK's FTP, so it's not lost.

Yes, but I obviously can't give it out to anyone else.

- If you are looking for anything specific (like a certain version of an emu/app/game) I might be able to help you though.

Oh so it isn't a public FTP. I'm after uDCDivx atm. Can you post up a file list so I can see what goodies lay hidden from Google?

I don't think I can give out that info either. I am sorry.

Rest assured that what was freely available to the public will be available at DCEmu UK again soon, and then likely at other places too.

Regarding uDCDivX:
uDCDivX at DCEmu UK
Mekanaizer's website via Archive.org

Seems v0.1 from 09-2004 was the latest release.

Out of curiosity, was the source code for uDCDivX ever released? If so does anyone have a link to it?

I could swear I'd seen the source to it before. I'll make some inquiries when possible.

Someone came on IRC today looking for it and said the DCEmu UK downloads at that link were corrupt for him, but they weren't for me. So I uploaded the files here.

I tried the newly added uDCDivx discjuggler image on my dc. The disc booted up fine but then all I got was a black screen. It didn't change...
Anyone, perhaps with experience with uDCDivx, know what's going on here? Someone else willing to try the cdi files? Thanks

I've just thrown this together for you:

http://www.dchelp.net/downloads/Udcdivx.rar

It's a working CDI image of uDCDivX V0.1 NTSC (didn't try the ones from DCEmu.UK because a lot of their download archive is corrupt due to a hack or something). There's a short video on there for you to see the application working, excuse the quality though, the vid was downloaded like that and then converted using the old DCDivX settings. If you want to try out any other uDCDivX releases, you'll find them all in release order within the 'Extra' directory.

Have fun!.
