I had a good think and I think I've got it now:

- "Would someone sticky this?" refers to making the topic a "sticky" post at the top of the page.
- Another way to sticky thing is by using PVA glue
- PVA stands for Polyvinyl acetate
- Vinyl is a term used to describe gramophone records
- The gramaphone can trace its routes back to the phonograph cylinder
- The phonograph cylinder was invented by Thomas Edison
- Thomas Edison died in 1931
