Re: What do you think of this car
I met this dude at a party last weekend with this EXACT car. He had hydraulics on it and honestly it was pretty nice; the added pin stripe, hood, and roof designs looked really good as well. Me personally, not my flavor so to speak.
EDIT:My little sister is into these types of cars and she took a good amount of pictures of it. When I get off work later I will find the pictures and post them. She had a crappy digital camera so the pictures won't be the best quality.

Re: What do you think of this car
I owned one of those. A '78 Lincoln Continental Mark VII Cartier Edition. It had airbags, American wire wheels, candy red paint job. First car. Then I lost my job, and sold it . I miss that car.

You seem to have some kind of hardcore fixation on this car don't you?Code-Red wrote:1999-2001 Nissan Skyline GT-R34 > 1955-2007 Corvettethat_guy wrote:2007 Chevrolet Corvette>1980 Datsun PulsarBoneyCork wrote:I know that was a dig at my Japanophilic ways, but even so,that_guy wrote:Boney prefers them small, young, and Japanese. Mazda RX-7 FD3S Type RZ > All.
I didn't like that first car. If you drove that around, you'd constantly be hounded by the A-Team foiling your evil plans to take over some back-water village in the middle of Kansas.

Sorry, the fact you nominated a rotary engine for the best shows how much you know. Even a Supra would have been a better choice.ThinkTank wrote:Mazda RX-7 FD3S Type RZ > All.

Presuming that the current Iced Earth lineup remains intact during recording, Revelation Abomination will become the first Iced Earth studio album to have the exact same lineup as the previous one.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=rC0yIl49zhk RX-7 > Skyline (but a damn good race!)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=MdzZewDKHvc Skyline > RX-7 (only half the video though and it was a high speed ring)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=wpyHis0W_RQ Neither. RX-7 keeps up in a drift race.
This could go on forever, but I think the general consensus is that the RX-7 > Skyline. Perhaps if it lost a few lbs the Skyline might do a little better. As it stands, it's like a clinically obese person sprinting against Linford Christie.
Oh, and one other important factor... the RX-7 *looks* better.

But both are still much better than the A-Team bad-guy car.

Re: What do you think of this car
If you really want to argue, you should add me on MSN. I work as a mechanic on all sorts of imports at night. I have too many examples of the main seal (gasket) issues, oil leaks, shitty compression, etc. I wont touch a rotary. Rotaries are nice, if you have a brand new engine, and you expect it to live 40,000 miles. Other than that, shit. The RB's have been proven to last more than 100,000 miles. Plus, your videos are insignificant. In any drag racing circumstance, AWD will always win. (given that they are in the same whp range)ThinkTank wrote:http://youtube.com/watch?v=OpyFRAecc3Q RX7 > SkylineCode-Red wrote: THREAD IS OFFICIALLY FAILED. ROTARY FTL. RB26DETT FTW. LOCKED[/size]

Re: What do you think of this car
Does this new guy hold some sort of record for getting into an arguement with someone the fastest? I don't even think I moved that fast when I first joined up here. 3 days in new guy, I'm impressed.
I know this really isn't a true arguement, but hey. I still find it hilarious

Re: What do you think of this car
Heh. It wasn't intentional. Just attempting to defend my favourite car. However, it seems I am out-matched. I really know not very much about cars. Well, that's not entirely true, but I'm by no means an expert. I agree the AWD will beat all others in a straight drag, but corners... corners. Surely that's where the fun comes in to play.
As I don't actually own an RX-7 (and being only 24 with one year's no claims I wouldn't be able to get insurance anyway) I can only go by what I see. And every time it's been an FD Vs. Skyline, the Mazda's taken it.
I don't think the Skyline's a *bad* car. I just don't like them. And the RX-7 seems to out-perform it 9/10.
For what it's worth, I *do* like the Skyline's little brother though. A Nissan Sunny Pulsar GTi-R is high on my list of 'Want to buy' cars.
