3 Player Games in NesterDCSE

Very bugged, in all of my games except for one, 3rd player also controls 1st player, however, we only have 3 controllers. Bomber Man II is the only one that works.
Any fix for this, or am I doing it wrong?
Do I need to have 4 controllers plugged in to play with more than 2 people even if I'm not using the forth?

Hm, I never played NesterSE with more than two players so I got no idea. I will test it soon though - Do others have the same problem ?

Are you using official controllers or third party controllers ? Does it work in other games / emulators (Nester v6.0) ?

We have 3 official dreamcast controllers, and I have two different versions of bomber man II, one of them works fine with 3 players.

The other version suffers the same fate as the rest of the four player nes games; 3rd player also controls 1st player.

Update: I've confirmed this being present in Nester 6.0, Nester 7.1, and NesterDCSE.

Here are a majority of known 4 player NES games, I bet there are more, but the ones that I have are RC PRO AM 2, Gauntlet 2, SUPER OFFROAD, and INDY heat.

Would be really cool if this could get looked at or fixed. Hmm. Just tried the same roms with Nestopia, and four player worked great in RCPROAM2 and SUPER OFFROAD.

Anyone know of any other four player Nes games not on that list, even if they are in Japanese?

To be able to play 4 player games you need to have plugged in all 4 controllers before you start up NesterDC. This applies for all versions till 7.0. An virtual maple port binding was introduced from version 7.0. When you start up NesterDC the first thing you will see is the controller bindings menu, something like this:

Dreamcast controller #0 to NES #0
Dreamcast controller #1 to NES #1
Dreamcast controller #2 to NES #0
Dreamcast controller #3 to NES #1

You need to change that so that Dreamcast #2 and #3 are bound to NES #2 and #3. You can also find this menu in the options.

Are you sure? I could have sworn that the original Bomberman was strictly a 1-player game. I thought that Bomberman 2 was the first Bomberman party game.

But only one works correctly

In all the others the 3rd and 4th players are able to control players 1 and 2, I have tested this extensively hoping one time to get it to work. Tried Nester 6.0, 7.1, and SE. And yes, I've had all four controllers plugged in. It appears to be very broken.
