About time. The unit that interests me is:
Immortal: This unit activates a near impenetrable shield when under heavy arms fire. During the demonstration at WWI, Blizzard showed how Terran siege tanks were nearly powerless against Immortals, since their heavy tank blasts activated the shields. As a contrast, Terran Reapers' small arms fire made quick work of these guys.
Those things will really change some strategies.

If it runs on Windows 2000 and/or Wine, I'm in. I don't think I've had more fun with any RTS than Starcraft.

According to the info on IGN, it runs on DirectX 9 for Windows (the current alpha build they have actually doesn't work properly with DX10), and on Mac OSX. Since it's a DX9 game, I'm guessing 2000 and XP are good to go.Ex-Cyber wrote:If it runs on Windows 2000 and/or Wine, I'm in. I don't think I've had more fun with any RTS than Starcraft.

I recently stumbled across one DX9 game that refuses to install on Windows 2000, so I don't make that assumption anymore...DaMadFiddler wrote:According to the info on IGN, it runs on DirectX 9 for Windows (the current alpha build they have actually doesn't work properly with DX10), and on Mac OSX. Given most people think WarCraft 3 was only released to get WarCraft back in peoples minds and flesh out the mythos and environments for use in WoW, I'd say it would be a pretty logical extrapolation to see:
SC2
SC2 - expansion
WoSC
If you start to see typical mmo / rpg mechanics being slipped into SC2 (eg trade interfaces, levelling up of individuals or units etc) then its pretty much a given.
