Getting ready for a 360 purchase
Premium 360 $400 (from target, with free viva pinata)
Live $50 (Any deals on this?)
Wired Controller $25 (For when a friend comes over)
Headset $20 (Headset so friend and I can play on live)
Remote $20 (Does the HD-DVD drive come with one?)
S-video cable $15 (I heard the premium comes with this. I want this cable so I don't have to cable swap.)
Play and Charge $20 (Not sure on this.)
Crackdown $60 (Halo 3 beta. And I get a free game, too!)
I'm then going to reactivate gamefly.

-You need the Play And Charge Kit.
-The Premium comes with a regular Yellow/Red/White cable and Component cables.
-Gears of War.
-No XB Live deals as far as I recall.
-Cheap XBOX360 Deals
-Gears of War.
-A large MS Points card for XBOX Live Arcade games.
-Did I mention Gears of War?

Gears of War. Get it before Crackdown. Just rent Crackdown to try the beta out, because the game itself gets boring after a week. You'll regret buying it big time.
Get Phantasy Star Universe. You can get it for under $20 if you look at the right places. IMO it's the best online game on the 360 (or at least tied with GoW).
You don't necessarily need the MS points card that Eckostyle mentioned, if you have a credit/debit card you can put that in and add points to your account with the click of a button.

Eh, I still love it. Granted I've finished it and there's not much more to do, so I'll probably just finish it again. Then just run around blowing shit up, hell that's all I do in GTA anyway.Gears of War. Get it before Crackdown. -yes, the hd-dvd drive comes with a remote. (thats how i got stuck w/ 2)
-for the live, i'd recommend getting the package w/ the live camera. it comes with a few hundred MS points, UNO, and Robotron. it's like 70$ on newegg, 80 in astore.
Rainbow Six Vegas is a lot of fun. Forza Motorsport 2 is also looking to be really good.

as far as live goes. If you plan on getting a year, I suggest picking up this package. It goes on sale sometimes, but either way its a good deal.
For 60 bucks you get:
12 Months of xbox live gold
Xbox Live vision camera
Xbox Live wired Headset
200 Microsoft Points
Robotron and Uno xbox live arcade games.
All that together is a great package deal. I just picked it up recently. And at pricegrabber you can get a 5 dollar rebate on it.
As far as games go, if you plan on getting perfect dark zero make sure to get the Platinum Hits version, as it has the premium download content already on the disk so you dont have to pay for it. why M$ hasent made it free on the marketplace im not sure.

True that, true that. I wish I knew about it when I bought the game, I bought the Collector's Edition. The only thing cool about it is the case, the DVD sucks.Nico0020 wrote:As far as games go, if you plan on getting perfect dark zero make sure to get the Platinum Hits version, as it has the premium download content already on the disk so you dont have to pay for it. why M$ hasent made it free on the marketplace im not sure.

I would agree you definitely need a play and charge. I went through 2 sets of batteries SO fast and then went out and bought one.
There are some good deals on that site eckostyle pointed out. I think the buy.com one is the best. It gives you $10 off a purchase of $175 at another store. If you get the play and charge, the second controller, xboxlive and a game all at the same time you'll definitely be up at 175.
You might want to consider though if you really need all that extra stuff when you buy the xboxlive package. You might rather just buy a card straight up because you get 13 months and it's a bit cheaper. You won't need an extra headset for a friend. Unless they have their own gamer tag they may not even be able to talk in the game.

Free? It shows up as 800 points for me. Too much for some new cars and guns in a game I lost interest in long ago.Nyarlathotep wrote:I found Crackdown much more fun than Gears Of War (which only has replay value in online or splitscreen co-op).
Especially with the new (free) DLC that just got released for it.
'Keys to the city' is fun as hell.

There's 2 sets of DLC.
One is a bunch of new weapons and cars, the other is a bunch of bug fixes and a 'cheatmode' (plus some other stuff, like it tracks all of the cars youve stolen, and by returning them to the garage you can select any car you've previously robbed to drive out with instead of just the agency vehicles)
The new weapons and cars actually look pretty frigging sweet, but I dont know if theyre 800 points worth sweet.
I paid that for SOTN.
