Fightoon

Post by mankrip »

Here's some news about Fightoon, the fighting game to be released by the GOAT Store.

It's an one-on-one game where you fight in the tallest arenas ever, against opponents from all over the world. It features many standard features like normal moves, special moves, charging, super moves, dash, long jumps, aerial blocking, and also some unique gameplay elements which we will reveal in the future.

The game isn't very far in development yet, but we got some very good results already. More information may come soon.

And now, screenshots!

Cell-shading is something I've never seen in a vs fighter. :D

Well, there's Rakuga Kids on the N64.

Fightoon looks real nice, though. How do you see the game playing, Fragger? Like a Capcom or SNK 2D fighter or more like Powerstone, Super Smash Bros. and those sorts of games?

Yes, Makaqu based.

The gameplay is 2D, and the commands will be easy to learn. No complicated d-pad movements or hard-to-remember button sequences.

I don't have a video capture card, but I'll do that when possible.

even though it is homebrew, I'd still expect more graphics-wise from a dreamcast game.

I kinda have to agree because I think that picture of Virtual fighter 1 looked better and that is about 10 years old now. Anyways does the game have widescreen support?

That picture shows an early beta of Virtua Fighter 2. Leon never was part of the VF1 cast. Also, AM2 obviously had a bigger team and better financial resources. In addition the Model1/2 hardware was build around the Virtua games, not the other way around. What a comparision...

There seems to be no texture mapping in the characters. Glad they changed that. [/offtopic]

I find nothing wrong with the graphics. It's an art style, and whenever it comes to an art style, opinions will always vary.
