Programming Forum Rules - Updated March 3, 2007

If you have any questions on programming, this is the place to ask them, whether you're a newbie or an experienced programmer. Discussion on programming in general is also welcome. We will help you with programming homework, but we will not do your work for you! Any porting requests must be made in Developmental Ideas.

Programming Forum Rules - Updated March 3, 2007

Post by Sanchez »

Hey all,

Not that this(these) forums get a whole lot of traffic, but the Newbie/Advanced forums have now been combined. Unfortunately in the process, the posts in Newbie were lost. If you have questions, feel free to ask....

Thanks

I'd just like to add, please don't post either of the following:

1) Porting requests

2) Requests for information on backing up DC games - whther through the coders cable, the BBA, or any other method.

But as DirtySanchez says, please post any questions relating to coding for DC (or coding in general) and hopefully someone will be able to help you out :)

Hello, toastman the new mod here.

A couple of rules to be enforced regularly:

Porting Requests: If you make them, expect to have them locked/deleted/edited. This is a forum for discussing programming tips/hints, not requesting AOL.

Warez: Cannot be said enough. Don't expect these to last either.

Flaming: Offending/Retarded/Flaming posts will be removed, not that it happens much in here anyway.

Thank you, good night.

I'm gonna paste the other part of the rules into here, because I'm tired of having so many things stuck at the top of the forum:
toastman wrote:The people who come to this forum are either programmers, people interested in programming, or people learning to program. Some of us are in different stages of our knowledge. Some are beginning, some are more experienced.
Some of us are taking programming classes.
In these classes they assign homework.
You can ask for help, but any request for the board to actually write the program for you will be deleted from here on out.

Just updating this a little bit...

Any discussion of how to use the official Dreamcast SDKs (be it WinCE or Katana) is not allowed in this forum. They are both illegal to use without a license. Any topics pertaining to them will be locked/deleted.
