So How Does Everyone Else Feel About Audioslave Breaking Up
I just found out about Audioslave's demise this past weekend... Loved there music just as much as the respective previous groups'. I have to say that I think it's kind of lame that Chris Cornell left to pursue a solo career I never see being as successful as Soundgarden or Audioslave were.

Audioslave's first album was okay, the rest of their stuff was average at best.
Both RATM and soundgarden were far better bands. It always felt like Tom Morello was really held back, or he was just being lazy. Audioslave's music was just... boring and lifeless really.
The possibility of another RATM album though, now that is awesome news.

I am elated. finally, tom and the other guys can stop wasting their time with that egomaniac. I love RaTM, I like that it had an informed message, none of this.. ' i feel this about this' crap that permeates the airwaves of today.
My ex told me one instance before a show where tom was speaking about a current atrocity, and Cornell just rolled his eyes like 'yeah,whatever'... Cornell needs to focus on himself, and well, the rest of the band has more important things to do.
I suggest watching their live concert at the DNC @ 2000 (RaTM) it was so great, so RaTM.

I thought part of the reason that Rage split was because the rest of the band got tired of Zach de la Rocha's constant quasi-political whine.I.M. And I liked Audioslave, it gave Morello room to explore musically, rather than doing the same thing over and over like in Rage. And if you are complaining about Audioslave's music, you are complaining about the members of Rage, not Chris Cornell, because they had an agreement: they write the music, he writes the lyrics.

Count me in the "liked Soundgarden, indifferent to Audioslave" camp. I never really got into Rage either...

Re: So How Does Everyone Else Feel About Audioslave Breaking
I liked his first solo record. Haven't listened to it much since I just borrowed it from a friend and lost the tape later, but I liked what I heard. Similar goes for the first Audioslave record that I lend to a friend and never got back. Musically I thought it sounded a bit tired and the production way too expensive.S. However, remembering that Cornell just recently did the James Bond soundtrack (or was that Audioslave?), I fear we might not get another Euphoria Morning...
Insane homebrew collector.

It was Cornell... Euphoria Morning was okay, but it was no Audioslave or Soundgarden. I just think it was a mistake to leave the band seeing as how he probably won't ever be as successful on his own.Christuserloeser wrote:However, remembering that Cornell just recently did the James Bond soundtrack (or was that Audioslave?), I fear we might not get another Euphoria Morning...S. Audioslave just did some cool rock music in an era of Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco.

Re: So How Does Everyone Else Feel About Audioslave Breaking
Euphoria Morning was alright, I liked Can't Change Me, but the rest of the CD just seemed to blend into one. Not a lot to hate about it, but not a great deal to love either.
He didn't write the James Bond song, he just sung on it as far as I know.

I liked Soundgarden's early stuff a lot, but I really don't think Chris Cornell has done anything phenomenal since Temple of the Dog.
Rage was okay, but not great. I've got one of their albums, and that's all I need.
