Question about Game Compatibility:DREAMsnes

Post by renegadellf »

Does DREAMSnes support 32-bit games(forgive me if I am incorrect in my statement of Bits), like Mario RPG or Kirby Superstar? I recently got my burn to work, but to my dismay neither Mario RPG or Kirby works with my disk. They load fine, but stay on a black screen. Several of my dumps work beautifully, but those two are the only ones that do not.

P.S They have been tested on PC emulators, and have shown no real errors. Am I missing something important?

Thank you for your help.

It should work reguardless of the SNES rom size(unless its a bad dump of the ROM). Like said, check with GOODSnes or SNESTool

BTW these arent 32bit games there 32MB carts. And size has nothing to do with rather the game is emulated or not its chips that matter. Look at ToP its the second largest snes game and its emulated. its a 48MB cart.
DNR the current kickass dc programer. Thanks
for the emulator I've been waiting 2 years for.

Thanks to Reaper2k2 also for showing interest into WSC emulation.

it should be noted that he means 32megabits and not 32megabytes.

what does a 32-bit or 64-bit system mean anyway?
i remember toy story for the megadrive/genesis was 32-bit even though it was only on a 16-bit system.
A title I hold with pride to this day:

There not bits there bytes. Like the Cart is 64MegaBytes is what it means. Its size only.

You mean 64Megabits (as stated above); which is 8MBytes.

"bits" in CPU terms means the "word length", or basically the number of seperate instruction or operations it can handle in one cycle.
Carts use Mb, as a measure of capacity.

I'm getting confussed there 64MBits which is like 640000 kilobytes or something. ONce StarOcean is in rom format its only 5-6MB.

If the makers call is a "64meg" or "64Mb" game, they mean 64,000,000 bits. 8bits=1byte so the game would be 8MB (megaByte) or 8,000KBytes
